Overview
Made in NYC is an initiative of the Pratt Center for Community Development supporting makers and manufacturers across the five boroughs. Its relevance to ecommerce is local product businesses: membership is based on manufacturing activity, not simply having an online store or a New York mailing address.
Community & activities
The network provides a member directory, marketing and branding support through its Learning Lab, business resources and opportunities to connect with other makers. Its programs also include local sales opportunities and member events, linking production with the practical work of reaching customers.
How to take part
Membership is free for eligible businesses. The published requirements include manufacturing a physical product or providing a manufacturing service with more than half of production in NYC, at least one full-time-equivalent worker, and registration or qualifying revenue. Review the full rules, including food-production conditions, before applying; packaging and shipping alone do not qualify.
